Getting Started
You can find the affiliate URLs section on your campaign under the affiliate tracking section tab.
This section is where you add the details of the URL you are planning to drive traffic to.
You can add more than one URL per campaign, allowing several different URL variants to be tracked per campaign (great for different variants of the same campaign).
URL Tracking
Click Add Affiliate URL button to begin and click URL Tracking
Redirect to to an existing URL
Do you want this affiliate URL to redirect to an existing affiliate URL? - If selected, you are able to redirect to a URL that already exists (on another campaign which will show in the drop down box).
Enter the URL you would like to convert into a Databowl affiliate URL.
If you are adding a new URL or setting up for the first time, simply add the URL and give it a name (the name helps you identify it easily)
Tip: Adding Query Params and Sharing Data
You can pass query parameters on the end of the URL which is useful if you need to pass the databowl ID to a different paramter name
eg: If you want to pass the Databowl uid (our transactionID used for postback tracking) to aff_sub1, then your URL would be something like:
Advanced Settings (optional to configure):
Expiry Date
You can toggle on/off and set an expiry date on the URL
Fall back URL
Enter a fallback URL. When your affiliates are paused this is the URL the visitors will be redirected to
Redirect URL
If Databowl identifies the user as converted, or matching your targeting rules you can enter a redirect url
Track Organic Traffic Conversions
If you want to track conversions without a corresponding impression or click event toggle this on.
**Note, this means ALL traffic to a URL will be tracked to your default affiliate, even without an affiliate driving traffic to it**
Forward Custom Variables
This will pass any parameter your affiliate has added to the end of the affiliate URL to the end of the client URL
Session Lifespan
You can set how long a session (starting from a click) lasts for.
Set it as Active
Once added you are able to toggle the URL as Active, the pencil icon will allow you to edit the steps above, and the three dots provide additional features
Additional options can be configured once the URL has been added.
You can view them by clicking the 3 dots next to the URL
Create Targeting Rules
Targeting rules allow you to only fire based on specific match requirements, such as country, device type, browser name, http referrer, operating system and more.
Mobile Device Only Example
You can create a new targeting rule and define the match type. For example mobile traffic only would be:
Once selected you can define what happens if it matches/does not match.
Allow - will allow the subsequent conversion event
Block- will block the conversion event (note this will not stop leads being received if attached to a landing page)
Redirect - will redirect to a specified URL
Other options define what happens if none of the rules are met (block, allow or redirect) as well as the option to reject the lead if you block / redirect the traffic.
