How to add Sources (Formerly Suppliers) to your campaigns

This is where you will manage who is supplying data to your campaign, as well as invite new companies to run the campaign. You can also define the costs you are paying your sources as well as 'activate' and 'de-activate' sources.

To add a source to your campaign, you can either select an existing source or invite a new one.

Adding Existing Sources

To add an existing source, you will need to have already invited them to your Databowl account (instance). Providing they are already active, you can add them to this campaign by simply clicking where it says 'Create New', finding their name in the list by either typing the name for scrolling through the source list, and clicking '+ Add Source'. You will be prompted to set the Lead Costing for this source once added.

Inviting New Sources

To invite new sources to your instance of Databowl, leave <<Create New>> selected and then click '+ Add Source'.

  • Inviting a Single Source. To invite a single source to this campaign, you can simply enter your contact's email address into the empty box, then click 'Invite'. Your source will receive an email with a link. As soon as they have followed this link, filled in their basic details and activated their account, they will become an active source to this campaign. In future, you will not need to invite them in order to add them to new campaigns - they will appear in your list of existing sources.

  • Inviting Multiple Sources. To invite several sources at once, click on 'Generate via Shareable Link'. When you click 'Generate Link', you will be given a unique URL which you can share with any other sources/suppliers who you wish to join this campaign. Make sure you keep this link confidential - anybody who has it can join your instance of Databowl as a supplier for this campaign, and while unwanted visitors can be removed, it's something you'd probably prefer to avoid.

Troubleshooting:

By default, all new suppliers will be 'inactive' when you add them to a campaign. This does not prevent them from sending data to the campaign, however, the software will not process the data unless the supplier has been activated. You do this by selecting the grey button where it says 'No' under 'Active' to toggle this to 'Yes' (which will turn the button green).

If a supplier has sent data to a campaign while paused, you will need to reprocess this data after you have made the Source 'Active'.

All sources who have been added to this campaign will appear in your 'Sources' box within your Campaign Configuration screen.

Each supplier has a set of icons:

  • 'Source Type' - Tells you whether the source is a 'Supplier', an 'Affiliate', or 'Both'.

  • 'Active Button' - Toggle this to 'Yes' and 'No' to make your Sources 'active' or 'inactive'.

  • '... Button' - Click the blue ... button to reveal a menu with the following options:

  • Set Costs - This is where you can define your cost per source. This needs to be confirmed before you are able to activate the source by clicking the 'Active' button.

  • Submit Test Leads - Here you can test campaign configuration by submitting leads. Note that all leads submitted through this form will be treated exactly like leads sent through the API.

  • Integration Document - Contains important information on how to submit leads and the different methods that are available in order to receive key information about those leads.

  • Create IO - This allows you to create an IO with the source within Databowl (an Insertion Order is an agreement between the publisher and advertiser to run an ad campaign).

  • 'Edit Button' - Is where you can set an Alias for your source. This allows you to keep their name private from other clients who can view the campaign.

  • 'Bin Button' - Removes Source. This will remove this source from this campaign - it will not, however, remove them from your instance of Databowl. If they are involved in other campaigns, this will not affect them.
