Creating responders...

There are 2 ways you can create, edit and manage your Email/SMS responders.

The first, is the Email/SMS section in Databowl. You can simply select Email/SMS in your sidebar, then chose from the following options:

If click View/Edit, you can see brief overview of each responder and which campaigns they are associated with.

Next to each responder you will see the option to 'View' or 'Toggle Active'. By clicking 'View' you will be able to view the Reponder Details like so:

If the 'Toggle Active' icon is green, it means this responder is active, and if it's grey then it means this is inactive. You can toggle responders on or off using this button.

Creating a responder allows you to add a message or schedule of messages to your Databowl campaign. Once you create a responder you can add a series of messages to the Responder. A responder can have one or several messages that can form part of a follow up/ nurture schedule, as well as having different versions for split testing/ sending to different user groups.

To create a responder, either select the '+ Create New Responder' shortcut in View/Edit page here:

Or select 'Create' in the Email/SMS side menu, which takes you straight to the 'Create Responder' page:

Name - Give your responder a name. It helps to choose a unique name that will make it easy to identify in future - this will prevent confusion as you add more responders. For example, "Welcome message for new subscribers" is a better name than "Auto-Responder 1".

Campaign: Choose which campaign this responder will be used with. Each responder may only be assigned to one campaign. If you don't see any campaigns in the drop-down list, you'll need to create your first campaign.

Message Type: Decide whether messages will be sent via email or SMS. If you want to send both, you'll need to create two separate responders.

Destination Field: Select which field contains the contact details you'll be sending this responder to. For example, if you're sending an email responder, you'll want to select whichever field contains the email address (usually email).

By default, each responder will be active as soon as you finish creating it - don't worry, it won't send anything to your prospects until you've added the creative/message.

However, if you're creating a responder that you're not planning on using yet, you can simply uncheck the box above the "Create" button.

Once you hit the "Create" button, you're ready to edit your responder and prepare it for launch.
