Used alongside rule groups to give a more granular level of reporting and help you select specific groups of data when reprocessing data.
If your leads are categorised using a field in the data e.g "colour", you could use the categories section to tag every lead that is Red.
This would allow you to send an add hoc email to just those users who are in the category colour Red or reprocess/ reject leads who's category is Red.
Getting Started
You can find this in the "Lead Management" > "Validation" > "Categories" section in the left side menu.
Creating the Category
If you wanted to categorise a lead, first you need to give a name to the category.
In this example the category is Red.
Head down to the bottom of the list and fill out the field and click add.
Applying a Ruleset
You need to have a Rule Group to apply a Category.
You can find this in the "Lead Management" > "Validation" > "Rule Groups"
Add a new Rule Group
For this example I have created a simple Rule Group:
This rule requires the colour to be equal to Red
Add to your campaign
Go to the campaign that you wish to apply a lead category to.
In the Rule groups section, select your Rule Group and click "+ Add"
A new screen will com up where you can set the settings for this group.
In this example applying the Rule Group will simply categorise any data that meets the criteria as "Red" and will not change the lead status as "No change" is selected.
So all we need to do is change the match type to match (so where it equals Red)
And then set the lead category to our category Red.
Manage Supplier Restrictions
You can choose to specify individual suppliers to apply this category to, and also use the arrow buttons to rank the order of Rule Groups.
This is useful if you have a Rule Group that changes a lead status as it stops evaluating Rule Groups when it matches one.
Your Leads
In the Leads section you can see the record is now categorised Red.
In the "Filters & Bulk Reprocess / Send Responder" you are now able select and add all the categories you want.
If you go to Reports > Campaign Supplier Summary you can now see a breakdown of all the leads in each category also.
Examples of how categories can benefit
A car company could categorise every lead with the brand of cars. This would allow them to reprocess or send an ad hoc email to only consumers who selected "Audi".
An insurance company could categorise renewal months to process at a later date of people who are due their insurance in a specific month.
A utility company could categorise which customers were with which provider and use this to easily identify report on their prospective customers current supplier.
