Within the Mapping for Campaign forwarding - you can use the reformatting option to reformat fields to be compatible with other systems.

You can create multiple rules for reformatting - they will be visible in the reformatting tab to review edit or delete.

Some fantastic examples include

Replace

With

Why

man/woman

Male/Female

When gender is supplied incorrectly.

company type

a better category

eg: if you receive data with hundreds of types, but each type is a sub set of a category, you can use this replace to insert the category instead

yes/no

Yes/No

When receiving data with incorrect casing

Blank/Null

0/False/Default String

When not receiving data and you need to pass a default string (as a string, if required as a boolean, see the boolean reformatter)

Yes/No

True/False

When receiving receiving values and need to replace with a different value (as a string, if required as a boolean, see the boolean reformatter)

Create A Reformatting Rule

Head to your forwarder and edit (or you can do this whilst setting up) and go to mappings.

When you have added a field, lets say DOB, you can click the icon as show below to bring up reformatting options

Reformatting Options

A new window will now show the reformatting options.

Boolean

Replace

Lets you replace a value with another value e.g. replace - with /

Ticking the "exact match" would require an exact match instead of a partial.

Set the Priority

Priority sets the order the reformatter works e.g 1 or 2 etc (useful if there are multiple changes )

Set it Live

And that's it you're all good to set it live. Just remember to test the forwarder and get your client to confirm it's coming in as required!
