Getting Started

The first thing you'll want to do is add the company. From your dashboard, head to Admin > Companies. Here you'll be able to manage all of the different companies you are working with within your instance of Databowl and invite new companies.

Inviting a new Company

To invite a new company to your instance of Databowl, you’ll need to send them an invite by clicking “Invite New Company” button.

A new modal should pop up and you can enter the email domain of the company you want invite.

If you're wondering what an email domain is, it's just a domain... So if your contact at the new company has an email of dave@company.com, the email domain is company.com. This should never include www or http etc.

New Companies

If the company is not on Databowl already, we can send them an invite. You'll see two options:

UK Registered Company

You'll then be able to search the company on the companies house database which will ensure for the best fraud protection.

Other

If its not a UK limited company click Other to complete the sign up.

Sending the Invite

Filling out the rest of the form and then clicking create company will then send an email to the user!

They then simply need to complete the sign up by confirming their email and number to register the account.

Existing Companies

If it finds a match to a company that has already been set up on Databowl, you can send an invite to the registered person at that company.

What do my invites need to do?

Receive the invite

If you've used a send invite option, they'll receive an email with the subject line will be: “Invite to join “Instance name” on Databowl. (instance name being your company name).

If you've used the invite link, you should send this to them yourself... email works well... you knew that already though.

Register their user account

They’ll be asked basic sign up details and time zone, email, name and set a password

Join a company

If they email domain they are using is linked to an existing company that has already been set up. eg: google.com is linked to Google - then they will be asked whether they wish to join that company.

If they do, then they click continue.

Register a company

If they need to register a new company, they can click the ‘Register Company’ button. Here they will be asked if it's a UK registered company, or ‘Other’

Once they've registered the company it will send them to their account dashbaord.

Verify Email

Before we can give them access to anything, we require all users to verify their email address.

Once they've registered they will receive an email from Databowl giving them a code they can enter.

If this email isn't received, they should:

  • check their spam folder

  • check their spam settings - with their email provider

  • add databowl.com domain as a safe sender

  • click request the email verification code be re-sent.

If none of the above works, they can email support@databowl.com and we'll assist.

Verify Phone (Optional)

If the user wishes, they can also verify their phone number via SMS.

If they don't receive their SMS after a short time, they can request a call.

This stage is optional, they can also skip it.

Access your instance

Your instance should now show on their instance list. They should be able to click this and go through to your instance.

If this doesn't show re-invite the user, use the invite link option, and it should re-attach the user.

Tell you they are in

When they're signed up and in your instance you can amend their roles, set them as administrators to give them full access or something else, this guide can help with that.

CONGRATULATIONS! You've got new users!
